By restricting food intake to 300 g a day the subject has lost 24 kg (53 lb) in 9 months.
Diet
- Breakfast: 50 g of muesli + 25 ml of 4% milk + 25 ml of water
- Lunch: 45 g of vegetable and turkey stew + 20 g wholemeal bread with 10 g of various items
- Tea: 45 g of vegetable and fish stew + 20 g wholemeal bread with 10 g of various items
- Supper: 40 g of wholemeal bread + 25 g of cheese + 300 ml of cocoa made with 5 g of cocoa powder + 5 g of icing sugar + 10 ml of 4% milk
- Other daily drinks: 2.4 litres of weak filtered coffee with 60 ml of 4% milk + 600 ml of tea with 15 ml of 4% milk + 400 ml of dilute fruit juice + 200 ml of hot water with a little Marmite
- Alcohol: one or two 200 ml glasses of cyder or wine a week
